Summer
Know where your fresh vegetables are coming from! Buy from the
farmer. We have our own fresh tomatoes, peppers, corn, eggplant, squashes,
beans, cabbage, and much, much more. Eat healthy!!!
As the summer vegetables & fruits come in, we bring them right
into the stand so that you may shop 7 days a week for the freshness of the
season.
For the more adventurous, we have the CSA which is rather like opening a present
because it's something different every week & it was hand-selected by someone in
the field (pardon the pun).
For the industrious, the frugal, & those who like things to be the freshest they
can possibly be, there's pick-your-own that may start as early as late July.
Keep the family recipes & traditions alive! Consider buying in bulk (you don't
have to pick it yourself to get a nice quantity for a good price!) - just order
a bushel or a half-bushel of any veggies ahead of time & we'll pick it fresh &
get it ready for you.
We are continuing our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)
in 2011. Here's how it works:
1. You can pay for the entire 16-week season by May 1 and receive 1 week
free OR pay us for a month’s worth of vegetables that you agree to pick up
once a week at a specified time. You will have to take what we are able to pick
because it is in season, we have enough of it, and it looks good enough to eat.
You get a bit more than you pay for because that’s just how it works. But you
have to take what we give you. It’ll be a variety of what is in season. We are
able to put in CT-grown items that are from other farms when it is warranted.
For instance, if blueberries are in season & we don’t have a lot of our own
produce for you, we can put in some blueberries that we buy from another farm.
2. You agree on a particular set day and time span during that day to
pick up your items each week. We’ll give you a choice of 2 days (Thursday or
Saturday). If you can’t
make it for any reason, you can make arrangements for someone else to pick up
your order. We can’t rearrange another time.
3. The first pick-up day is July 7, 2011 & the last is October 22, 2011.
There is a one-page contract that you must sign.
